So I met somebody, who is in art contest. This person will illustrate a short story. There is no story yet. Somebody has to write the story. 8000 characters, I AM THE ONE.
There was once a girl named Lucy. Lucy liked to go on adventures and hot tea. She had a kind mommy, that was very talented baker. She also had a small plushy horse called William, who accompanied her on all her travels. He was her best friend by far.
All three lived together in big house in the city. This city was huge and grey and people in it were grey as well. Lucy was looking out of the window everyday and seek for people, that are not grey, so she can go play with them, but found none. Therefore she asked he mommy, if there is anybody, who is not as grey as people in the city. Mom knew about one person, who is not grey at all. And so the went on trip.
The traveled far, far away. Across mountain’s tops, around streams and rivers, along dry plains and flooded marshes. When the night fell, Lucy and William observed night sky from the back of the car.
“Tomorrow is new day, Lucy.” whispered Will and slightly butted Lucy with his muzzle. “Everything starts anew. This time really for anew.”
“Do you think it will be grey there too? asked Lucy doubtfully.
“Only if you allow it. At the end, a fruitcake awaits us.”
“And will it be sweet?”
“The sweetest one, Lucy!”
Later that night, their car arrived by forest road to a yellow house near forest. The house had red fence and green roof, because it was covered in moss. Small grandpa was sitting on a bench, sleeping under his boater. Mom honked and grandpa woke up with shock.
“My bones! Isn’t it young lady Lucy with her wonderful mother? said happily while rubbing his knee.
“And horse Will!” laughed Lucy
“but of course… and horse Will.” added grandpa and bowed.
“Lucy, this is Ariston, lord of colours” said mommy with a smile. Ariston summoned flute and blew tones A-C-D-C.
An because it was late, he accommodated them in the chamber with window directed to night sky, saying that that is the best to see before one’s lids close to sleep.
Morning, Lucy was woke up by sunlight, but also by wailing from basement. She and Will ran down, where they found wailing Ariston, walking around the room and opening all shelfs and cabinets. He was searching for something forcedly. Mommy was in room too, helping him.
“…where are they, where could I’ve put them.” he said and scratched his head.
“What is happening Ariston?”
“My oh my! I’ve put my rainbow socks somewhere, I can leave into forest without them!”
Ariston was Mage of Colours, who was walking into forest each morning and there he casts rainbow every odd Tuesday.
“We are on odd Thuesday today! I must find them or there will be no rainbow! I left the on that stone near lagoon, where I took a nap, probably.” groaned Ariston, took his flute and blew false B.
“But there must be rainbow! Somebody must go on journey your lost rainbow socks.” lamented mommy.
Lucy put on a banana smile and Will whined with joy. They prepared for the adventure, mother prepared hot tea in a flask for Lucy and they hit the road to forest seeking Ariston’s rainbow socks.
They walked on beaten track, sun was shinning and forest was nicely fizzing. The road sloped down and at the end of it, there stood great grey Ash. He was very old and his black leafs were frowning on everything around. Will emboldened Lucy with slight belch. Ash leaned forward and asked: Whoever goes through my path, in time Tuesday, hum?
Lucy got freaked out, but without hesitation she said:”I, Lucy and my staunch steed Will.”
“Hum. You’re not welcome here, there may come a wizard in rainbow socks! Go away! “And his voice boomed like a big iron fist.
“Yes, that sorcerer sent me to find these socks, let us.” She said.
“But I will not let just anyone go to further. Hum. You might speak the truth, but I can not trust you. You have give me your steed! Only then I let you go forward!”
Lucie got scared, she did not want to leave Will with the evil tree. She need Will by her side. She will rather turn back and return with empty hands.
Will butted her hand. “Leave me here, Lucy. Though I know you can do it. I’ll wait here, I’ll be fighting if necessary. Believe in yourself and you will save me.” said Will obediently, and with his head down he went to the Ash. Tree moved his limbs and wrapped Will with black leaves. The way forward was clear.
Lucy was crying, she kept on going forward, as Will encouraged her. She regressed in her thoughts, what else she could have done differently in dealing with the Ash, so she didn’t realised big haunting clouds above her head. Ugly black clouds, full of anger and bad mood from Monday. As they moved towards each other, they started to call names each other. There can be nothing good coming out of this.
Clouds crashed! They began pushing each other, where they can and can’t go, bursting with all that anger. And when such clouds burst, things start to happen. The Thunder struck first, large and heavy, you could heard him was after he fell. Then few wild Lightnings jumped in, thin and crooked, they danced across the sky like rascals. Finally, the Downpour started, large and thick drops of cold cold water.
Lucy curl up in the grass. Drenching on the ground, she began to fear she will never find rainbow socks, she will never free Will from the Ash. The sky was getting darker every moment.
Suddenly, Lucy remembered the warm tea her mommy gave her. “It will supply me with energy” said Lucy and rushed forward. Running thru night, stumbling and falling, getting up again and running forward. Finaly, she found a small hollow in the rock, sat down. Her clothes was dirty, shoes covered in mud. She opened the flask with hot tea. As she was supping it, her strength came back.
Outlasted the storm, she went out of hollow. Standing on rock next to lagoon in which clear blue sky and calm forest mirrored.
She tried to look for at least one lost sock, but there were no tracks at all. She sat on the rock and silently whispered:”Where are thou, rainbow socks?”
“Who is looking for fabulous rainbow socks of magician Ariston?” said deep but calm voice.
Lucy didn’t see anyone. Who’s askingm who sees her, who hears her? Se hesitated to answer, but that voice sounded again.
“Who is looking fabulous rainbow socks of magician Ariston?” sounded the voice again, patiently.
“I am Lucy, seeking those rainbow socks, magician lost them and without them today is not a rainbow!” she exclaimed into the space around.
Then the rock beneath her began to move. Stones squirmed, rubbed against each other and transformed. Stones come together and Lucie suddenly found herself staring in the face of the giant rock. He was half-covered with grass and small trees.
“Really?” Said the giant, “I have those socks, he left the on my shoulder and forgot about them. I shall give the socks under one condition.”
Lucy looked directly in his stone face. She remembered Will, who believes in her, mommy, who was waiting for her, magician Ariston, who whines over lost socks. She has crossed grumpy Ash, soaked in the rain, survived the storm and now she stands face to face with stone giant. And he has rainbow socks. Without them Lucy will not leave.
”What is your condition, giant?” shouted Lucy.
“Can you make the rainbow happen today?” said giant with a smile and passed her both socks. She pulled them on, stood on a giant arm and leaped three times. rainbow shot from lagoon towards the sky and so odd Tuesday was saved.
Lucy thanked the Rock giant, who introduced himself as Jonah, took a pair of socks. On the way back she met Ariston accompanied by Will, liberated from Ash’s black leafs. Together they returned to the yellow house where mommy cook amazing sweet fruitcake. It was the best cake ever.
